Last weekend the weather was so perfect. I got outside to do some trail running and to practice integrating breathwork. I wanted to practice deep, controlled breathing to support endurance and a steady pace.
The technique I chose is to: freely inhale until the diaphragm is full, then release the exhale as quickly and easily as possible. Then, start again without a pause in between. This keeps the cycle of breath going with no holding back. Nothing stays stuck in the body.
It’s not so easy, and took me a while to get there. However, this method does keep my heart rate very steady, and I can overcome muscle cramps if they arise.
I also step off trail for a few minutes to practice a peaceful breathing exercise.
I hope you enjoy all the sights and sounds.
